Unfiltered fluid enters the housing and is distributed evenly around the filter bags. Filtration takes place from inside to outside. Solids are collected on the inside of the filter bag for easy removal. The filtered fluid then exits through the outlet pipe.
Bag Filter Housing
The bag filter system is designed for optimum filtration performance. Its range provides filtration solutions for a broad variety of fluid applications in the process industry. They are particularly useful for filtering large volumes of high viscosity liquids. Bag filters are constructed of filter housing, filter bags, an internal cage to support the bags, a positive sealing arrangement, and your choice of end connections. The internal support ensures that bags do not burst as high differential pressures build up during operation.

Bag Filter Housing

A bag filter housing is a type of filtration system used in various industries to remove solid particles and contaminants from liquids or gases. It provides a housing or enclosure for bag filters, which are large, flexible filter bags designed to capture and retain particles as fluid or gas passes through them. Bag filter housings are known for their efficiency, ease of use, and versatility in different applications.

The main purpose of a bag filter housing is to hold and support the bag filters while facilitating the filtration process. The housing is typically constructed from durable materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, or plastic, depending on the compatibility with the fluid or gas being filtered and the operating conditions.

Bag filters are inserted into the housing, where they form a barrier that captures particles and contaminants from the fluid or gas stream. These filters are typically made of materials such as nylon, polyester, polypropylene, or other synthetic fibers with varying filtration ratings. The choice of filter material and filtration rating depends on the specific application and the desired level of filtration.

The bag filter housing features inlet and outlet connections to allow the fluid or gas to flow through the system. The flow is directed into the housing, and the bag filter captures the particles as they pass through. The filtered fluid or gas then exits the housing through the outlet connection, leaving behind the captured contaminants inside the bag.

One of the advantages of bag filter housings is their high dirt-holding capacity. Bag filters have a larger surface area compared to other types of filters, allowing them to hold a significant amount of debris before requiring replacement or cleaning. This reduces the frequency of maintenance and minimizes downtime.

Bag filter housings are also designed for easy installation and maintenance. They often feature quick-open mechanisms, such as swing bolts or clamp closures, which allow for convenient bag replacement or cleaning. Some housings may include pressure gauges or differential pressure indicators to monitor the filter's performance and indicate when maintenance is required.

Bag filter housings are widely used in various industries, including water treatment, chemical processing, food and beverage production, pharmaceutical manufacturing, oil and gas refineries, and many others. They effectively remove particles such as sediment, rust, sand, scale, and other contaminants, ensuring the quality and integrity of the fluid or gas being filtered.

In summary, bag filter housings are essential components in filtration systems, providing a secure and efficient enclosure for bag filters. They offer high dirt-holding capacity, ease of installation, and maintenance. Bag filter housings are widely used in diverse industries where the removal of solid particles and contaminants from liquids or gases is critical for process efficiency, product quality, and equipment protection.
