Various industries utilize Auto Back Wash Self Cleaning Filters for preliminary filtration of rigorous applications. It is excellent for slurry-based filtration applications and situations where the suspended solid load is rather high and the material is particularly viscous.
Auto Backwash Filter - Self Cleaning Filter
The flow direction of auto-backwash self-cleaning filters is from outside to inside. Unfiltered fluid enters the filter housing through the bottom tangential inlet connection. Contaminants are deposited on the outer surface of filter elements, and clean filtrate passes through the inside diameter of the element, then removed through the top tangential outlet. Users can set their differential pressure data within the control panel. Once the differential pressure across the system reaches the pre-defined level of pressure drop, the inlet and outlet valves shut down and the drain and backwash valves open for a defined interval of time. During this process, debris deposited on the outer surface of the element will be drained out and collected through the bottom drain. This cycle continues as per pre-defined settings and process requirements. Auto-backwash systems are available with multiple filter elements, wherein one element is in use and the other can be cleaned at the same time. This will help to ensure an uninterrupted flow of the fluid.

Auto Back wash Filter - Self Cleaning Filter

Auto backwash self-cleaning filters are advanced filtration systems designed to automatically clean themselves without the need for manual intervention. These filters are widely used in various industries and applications where continuous filtration is required, and regular maintenance or downtime for cleaning is impractical or costly.

The primary function of an auto backwash self-cleaning filter is to remove particulate matter, debris, and contaminants from the fluid or gas stream. The filter consists of a housing, filter media, control system, and cleaning mechanism. The housing is typically made of durable materials such as stainless steel and is designed to withstand the operating conditions of the application.

Inside the housing, the filter media is positioned to capture and retain the particles suspended in the fluid or gas. The filter media can be in the form of a mesh screen, wedge wire, sintered metal, or other materials, depending on the specific filtration requirements.

The control system of the auto backwash self-cleaning filter plays a crucial role in initiating and managing the cleaning process. It is equipped with sensors or timers that monitor the pressure drop across the filter media or track the elapsed time since the last cleaning cycle. When the predetermined conditions for cleaning are met, the control system triggers the cleaning mechanism.

The cleaning mechanism typically involves a reversal of the fluid or gas flow through the filter media. The control system activates valves or actuators to redirect the flow, causing it to flow in the opposite direction. This reversal of flow dislodges the accumulated debris and particulate matter from the filter media, allowing them to be flushed out of the system.

The dislodged contaminants and debris are typically collected in a separate chamber or flushed out through a drain port in the filter housing. Some auto backwash self-cleaning filters may incorporate a purge cycle to ensure thorough cleaning and removal of the collected contaminants.

One of the significant advantages of auto backwash self-cleaning filters is their ability to maintain continuous filtration without interrupting the flow or requiring manual intervention. By automatically cleaning themselves at regular intervals or based on the preset conditions, these filters ensure a consistent and efficient filtration process.

These filters also offer the advantage of reduced maintenance requirements and longer service life. With the self-cleaning mechanism, the filter media is kept clean, preventing clogging and extending the lifespan of the filter. This reduces downtime for maintenance and replacement, resulting in cost savings and improved productivity.

Auto backwash self-cleaning filters find applications in various industries, including water treatment, wastewater treatment, oil and gas, chemical processing, food and beverage, pulp and paper, and many others. They are used to remove suspended solids, sediment, algae, debris, and other contaminants from liquids and gases, ensuring the quality and integrity of the process or product.

In conclusion, auto backwash self-cleaning filters are advanced filtration systems that provide continuous and efficient filtration without manual intervention. They offer the advantages of automated cleaning, reduced maintenance, and prolonged service life. With their ability to remove contaminants from the fluid or gas stream, these filters are an essential component in industries where uninterrupted filtration is essential for optimal performance and productivity.
